Hello, I am Mark Brennan, the new Head of Foundation at Wakefield Trinity RLFC, and I am delighted to be associated with this great club and continue the great work which has happened over the last 15 years.

The Foundation is the cornerstone of the community in Wakefield and we have reached over 25,000 people since the turn of the year.

We have delivered a wide range of projects so far throughout this year including:

· Holiday Camps, which has provided nearly 1000 free meals to children during the school holidays.
· Nearly 200 young people engaged in this year’s NCS programme.
· Nearly 100 young Rugby League players attended our October half-term development and activity camps.
· Over 350 calls have been made to local residents as part of our Connect Again programme, which was aimed to reduce isolation during COVID.

Over the coming months, we will continue to support our local community, as we are coming out of COVID, and we will be transitioning into a new long-term strategy in 2022. We will continue to work on the following key areas as we head into the New Year:

· Rugby League; increasing the number of participants in all forms of the game, including increasing our reach into new areas.
· Health and Wellbeing; improving the health and wellbeing across all ages within the Wakefield District, by delivering projects to meet the local needs of our community.
· Education; provide high-quality education to students from 4 – 18 years of age through a variety of programmes including, PE and School Sport delivery, STREAM Education, Alternative Provision and Traineeships.
· NCS; delivering high-quality opportunities for young people to gain new experiences.

I believe that, over the coming year, the Foundation will thrive. In early 2022, we will be looking to reshape and refocus our long-term strategy to ensure we are able to deliver sustainable programmes, which meet the needs of our community.

I am very much looking forward to working with the team here at Wakefield Trinity and having an impact on the lives within the community, we serve.
