Wakefield Trinity PDRL was back in action this weekend, as they aimed to complete back-to-back victories and maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
PDRL | Trinity 18-18 Tigers
Wakefield Trinity PDRL maintain their unbeaten start to the season with a hard-fought, 18-18 draw with Castleford Tigers.
Trinity entered into the contest full of optimism following their superb victory over Leeds Rhinos two weeks prior.
And it was the away side who struck the early advantage. After neat play, the ball was eventually played to Adam Fleming, who powered his way over to score.
Trinity much-deserved lead came and went in a flash as Castleford drew level minutes later. However, it was now Trinity’s turn to hit back as Wakefield once again took the advantage.
More great play saw Darren Dean take the ball in his stride, moving his way through the Tigers’ defenders to dot down.
Despite having the momentum, it was the home side who once again struck back, as Castleford added another to make the scores 12 a-piece at the interval.
Buoyed with confidence from the last times the side met last month Trinity were full of confidence and wasted no time in reinstating their advantage.
This time it was Callum Parkinson who added the four, while Dean maintained 100% accuracy with the boot.
However, las, it wasn’t meant to be and after holding firm for so long, Castleford drew level. With just minutes left on the clock, a try from Chris Hall broke Wakefield hearts, with the entertaining contest ending in a draw.
