Wakefield Trinity PDRL registered their second victory of the season as our Ladies side went in search of their first two points of the campaign.
Women’s RL | Trinity 14-40 Giants
Wakefield Trinity Ladies RL’s search for their victory goes on as they fall to a 40-14 defeat to Huddersfield Giants.
After a few weeks away, Trinity Ladies RL looked to make the home advantage count as they welcomed Huddersfield Giants to Belle Vue.
A few changes in the packed hoped to spark Trinity into life as Toni Thompkins returned while Jess Miller made her first Super League start.
These shifts in the pack seemed to inspire the home side as Brooke Price opened the scoring on seven minutes after the winger crossed in the corner.
Liv Whitehead was the next name on the scoresheet for Trinity as the fullback danced through the Giants’ defence to touch down despite Huddersfield pulling on back.
It was the Giants who took their lead into the interval, however, as Amelia Brown and Emmi Manning both touched down just before the break.
With a four-point deficit to make back, Trinity rallied, however, it was the Giants who took the game by the scruff of the neck.
With Wakefield depleted, Huddersfield held Trinity scoreless in the second half to complete a 40-14 victory.
PDRL | Trinity 28-10 Warriors
Lee Whiteley guided his side to their second win of the 2021 season as they completed a comprehensive 28-10 victory over the Wigan Warriors.
A trip over the Pennines beckoned for Wakefield as they headed to Robins Park in hope of maintaining their unbeaten start.
It was the away side who could smell the sweet taste of victory when Callum Parkinson, Connor Lynes, Jonny Humphries and a Darren Dean double put 28 points on the board.
Wigan kicked back with a couple of tries to decrease the deficit to 18, however, Trinity pulled through and completed a stellar victory.
