Trinity’s Wheelchair RL returns

Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation is delighted to announce that we will be holding a Wheelchair Rugby League taster session on Wednesday, 9th March (7-8:30pm).

Using the funds acquired through the CreatedBy RLWC2021 Capital Grants Programme, the Foundation’s Wheelchair side have their sights set on big things in 2022.

With the same speed, stamina and skill needed of the grass-based game, Wheelchair Rugby League adds another dimension to our current disability set-up, joining both our successful PDRL and LDSL programmes for the forthcoming year.

As time ticks down, we are now in a position to invite participants of all abilities and backgrounds as the sessions kick off from St Thomas a Becket Catholic Secondary School.

Speaking upon the re-launch of the programme, the Foundation’s Rugby League & Inclusion Officer, Charlie Doherty, said, “I am really looking forward to hosting this taster session for our Wheelchair side.

“With the skill and expertise of Gavin [Dobson], we hope to make the session both enjoyable and informative, offering the best guidance in the game.”

“I am hugely looking forward to seeing where this programme can go in 2022.”
