Wakefield Trinity LDSL will be back in action on Sunday as they head to York St John’s University for The RFL’s Learning Disability Super League festival.
The festival – held from 11am to 3pm – will be the second event Wakefield have had the pleasure to be a part of, after hosting our own at Eastmoor in August before heading to Methley a few weeks later.
The all-new festival-based format has been brought in by Super League, RFL and Community Integrated Care and allows players from multiple clubs situated across the North of England to take part.
As a community-based game, LDSL has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with the focus shifting onto skill development, increasing confidence and creating positive experiences for all involved.
After being introduced in 2018, the game took centre stage a year later, with sport being played at Anfield for the Magic Weekend.
After a year out due to the pandemic, LDSL returned in April, with participants enjoying training sessions every Monday at Eastmoor.
If anyone would like to get involved in our all-inclusive sessions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
