John Heaton

Trinity Ladies “Strengthen” Back Room Staff

Wakefield Trinity Ladies are delighted to announce the immediate appointment of John Heaton as Head of Strength & Conditioning.

John brings a wealth of experience to the club having previously spent 8 years working alongside Karl Harrison, John Kear and Matt Diskin at Batley Bulldogs as well as a year as Head of Academy S&C at Castleford Tigers.

John is an accomplished athlete in his own right winning the World Drug Free Bodybuilding championships in 2010 & 2011 so he knows what it takes to succeed. John was a keen amateur rugby league and union player and took up bodybuilding after injuries forced him to quit rugby.

I have had a few years away from rugby since I left Batley Bulldogs. I loved my time there and we had some great years, especially making a grand final & the Super League play-offs, both amazing achievements for a part-time team. I am now a Sports Lecturer at Wakefield College and I am working on a daily with young athletes helping them achieve their qualifications alongside their chosen sports. Women’s sport around the world is on the rise and rugby league in the UK is no exception. I am really excited to get involved and can’t wait help Wakefield Trinity Ladies improve, fulfil their potential and become a very competitive team in the BetFred Women’s Super League.”

John will bring high levels professionalism and integrity to the role that our women will thrive upon and hopefully bring the best out of our already talented squad, as we shape up ready for the 2021 BetFred Women’s Super League season”.
