Dani Swaine picked up a hat-trick of awards as Wakefield Trinity Ladies RL celebrated the end of the 2021 season with their Annual Awards evening on Saturday.
Captain Swaine enjoyed another successful season in the top-flight of Women’s Rugby League as she claimed Players’ Player, Forward of the Year, and the stand-out Women of Steel award at the Mobile Rocket Stadium.
The forward has been a consistent figure in Trinity’s side, bringing her hard-hitting expertise into the Women’s game, whilst leading from the front for much of the campaign.
Lisa Taylor, like Swaine, celebrated another fantastic season in 2021, as she picked up Gamebreaker of the year, as her nifty footwork and quick thinking brought fear throughout the Women’s Super League.
A scintillating season for Abby Price was well-recognised as she claimed ‘Back of the Year’ for her outstanding vision and ability with the ball.
A breakthrough year for Steph Spence-Hirst saw her take home the Young Player of the Season trophy, while Alisha Nix claimed this year’s Rising Star award for a superb season in Red, White & Blue.
Alongside the awards, everyone who appeared in a Wakefield Trinity Ladies RL shirt in the 2021 season received an official heritage number to celebrate the hard work they put in throughout the season.
