Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation is delighted to announce that our NCS participants raised over £1,600 for local communities across the district.
Over eight weeks of NCS delivery, Wakefield Trinity staff delivered over 40 days’ worth of activities engaging 159 young people.
Throughout their experience, participants enjoyed days out to both Dearne Valley, Kingswood and Xscape’s Snozone as well as enjoying interactive workshops from HMP Not 4 Me, Loud Speaker and Gamcare.
These activities set the foundations for the young people to conclude their two-week NCS experience by planning, preparing and delivering their own youth-led social action projects, which aimed to both give back to local community groups as well as enrich community funding.
Throughout the NCS programme, participants benefitted from learning key transferable skills at both the Mobile Rocket Stadium and off site with one of our wonderful community partners, equating to 3990+ hours of volunteering experience.
Speaking upon the conclusion of the summer programme, Wakefield Trinity, NCS Manager, Kate Hansell, is delighted with how our participants encapsulated the community spirit.
The Foundation will be now distributing the funds out to our charitable partners over the coming weeks, and we would like to take the opportunity to thank them for their time, flexibility and support over the last few months…
Here at Wakefield Trinity, our NCS department is always on the lookout for young people aged 15-17 hoping to add to their CVs and bag the skills to put their best foot forward in adult life.
