Successful first NCS residential for Trinity

Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation’s first-ever NCS Summer residential goes down as a huge success as our participants complete week one.

After a week full of hiking, gorge scrambling and indoor activities, our first NCS cohort of the Summer arrived back at the Be Well Support Stadium yesterday following five days in the mountains of Hellvelyn.

Setting off on early Monday morning, 48 of our participants took on the adventure of a lifetime, heading to the Lake District for our first wave of the season.

Following a couple of years of just stadium-based activities, this was the first residential trip for Wakefield as they also prepare for some time at both YAH Grinton Lodge and YHA Haworth.

After heading to the lakes earlier in the week, participants enjoyed pre-planned activities for their first few days, with organisers taking them on an eight-hour hike across the mountains, taking in the beautiful views England has to offer.

As well as this, water activities were provided, with kayaking and gorge scrambling on the cards as they were hit with some adrenaline-fueled challenges across the week.

Finally, it was time for some indoor activities, as they produced a social action pitch ahead of their community work in week two as well as the Wakefield Trinity NCS Wave One Talent Show.

As a club, we are proud to be able to offer life-changing experiences and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday.
