Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation is delighted to add Sandal Castle VA Community Primary School to our portfolio ahead of 2022.
Following in the recent footsteps of Waterton’s Normanton Junior, Sandal Castle will see our high-quality and well-known P.E and Sport Provision delivered in their school from January 2022.
After yet another hugely successful year, our Trinity Education department is excited to spread its wings once again, shaping yet another detailed sports curriculum around the pupils of the Wakefield-based primary.
With a full week’s work of delivery taking place at the school, the Foundation is also in the process of hiring a full-time P.E Specialist to work directly with Sandal Castle, further shaping sport and physical activity throughout the district.
Furthermore, the school will also benefit from increased Rugby League delivery, with all 18 classes receiving a six-week block of coaching, courtesy of the Foundation.
Speaking upon signing the agreement, Sandal Castle Headteacher, Nicola Russell, is delighted with the newly-formed partnership and is excited about the year ahead.
“Here at Sandal Castle Primary, Physical Education continues to be at the heart of our curriculum, more so than ever in these most challenging of times,” she explained.
“The breadth of curriculum opportunity on offer within the extended school day demonstrates our commitment and determination to remain loyal to our vision and values of delivering a broad and balanced P.E curriculum, which challenges learners, encourages curiosity and inspires lifelong learning.
“Our newly formed collaboration with Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation will further support and complement our nationally recognised best practice by providing additional opportunities in both school sport and physical activity.
“We are looking forward to working with partnership staff to ensure the children and families of Sandal Castle Primary have access to a range of opportunities within both the school and the wider community.
While, the Foundation’s Head of Education & Learning, Luke Shale, reiterated Mrs Russell’s comments.
‘I am delighted to be working with Nicola and the team at Sandal Castle,” Luke explained.
“The school has some amazing ideas and plans in place for the development of Physical Education and we are so happy to be contributing towards it.
“I hope this can be the start of a long-standing partnership with the school.”
