Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation | Half-Term Activities

Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation have loads of exciting activities available this spring half-term, with Rugby League Camps and Tackling Hunger Camps all at your fingertips.

Tackling Hunger Camps

Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation is pleased to continue our support of the ‘Tackling Hunger’ campaign throughout the Holidays. The project aims to provide for families that require support, whilst ensuring that children can get enrichment through our activity camps and receive a fresh meal each day.

These camps, operated by Foundation staff, are being run from Tuesday 1st June to Friday 4th June at Crigglestone All Blacks RLFC and will be jam-packed with loads of sports activities for children to enjoy.

Activities will include Rugby League, Football and loads of different games to keep the children occupied throughout the week. Following this, we have, once again, partnered with Morrisons’ Community Champions to provide a free school each day.

The Big Feed

We are delighted that our Big Feed project will continue throughout the spring half-term. Over the course of the last couple of months, the Foundation has been providing freshly-cooked meals to both the elderly and vulnerable across the district.

Partnering with Wakefield Council, the Foundation has teamed up with LD Nutrition to provide meals three times a week, with almost 20,000 meals already delivered.

Rugby League Player Development Centres

Running alongside our half-term camps is our Player Development Centres, put on to upskill children throughout our many community clubs. These sessions were held on Zoom back in the Easter half-term, however, due to life returning to some sort of normality, the RFL have confirmed that these can take place face-to-face.

Throughout the sessions the children will get expert advice from our multiple, professional coaches and will focus on skills both with and without the ball in hand, offering them new techniques and ways of learning about Rugby League.

More details on the sessions can be found below…

Rugby League and Activity Camps

Throughout this half-term, our Rugby League department will be hosting a Rugby League & Activity camp, which will include loads of skill-based activities for children to enjoy.
