To gather more insight into how our ‘Get Fit with Trin’ programme has helped some of our participants, we focus on Martin Smith, who has been a long-time admirer of a project that has helped him in so many ways.
Delivered by our Project Officer and qualified Personal Trainer, David Firth, our classes are designed to be both engaging and fun, helping participants improve their all-around fitness and feel more confident in themselves.
“I first found out about the class from an advert on the Trinity website.
“I have made some new friends through the class. Everyone gets along really well.”
With a mixture of indoor & outdoor activities, which utilises the facilities at the Be Well Support Stadium, participants are subject to a range of techniques, which they can use within the session on a Monday evening.
“Each class is varied with different exercises, making the classes feel fresh and new each week to keep me wanting to come back.
“It’s a great way to get motivated and fitter.”
Over the past few weeks, Martin and his fellow participants have been following a training programme to help keep a consistent level of physical activity week in, and week out.
This has brought a flurry of results, with Martin feeling the health and mental benefits the sessions bring.
“I am very happy with the progress I have been making.
“I would highly recommend it to other people who are wanting to get fit in a relaxed environment with people of similar age.
“All the staff there are all really friendly and make you feel very welcome upon arrival.”
