Foundation launch Body Goals

Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation is delighted to announce our all-new Body Goals project, aiming to increase awareness of a healthy lifestyle across Wakefield.

Working with Wakefield Council, we are introducing a health improvement programme over a 12-week period aimed at improving health amongst the male population.

We will be using a variety of different methods, including sessions on nutrition and mental wellbeing.

Speaking upon the launch of the programme, Foundation Project Officer, David Firth, “Wakefield Trinity is pleased to bring an exclusive programme to males in the community, offering health and fitness in a comfortable and enjoyable setting.

“This project is aimed at stimulating growth throughout an individual’s mental and physical wellbeing, promoting a healthy lifestyle and positive change.

While, Wakefield Council’s Health Improvement Team Leader, Rachel Bunting, followed, “Wakefield Council is thrilled to team up with Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation in promoting the Body Goals programme.

“Tackling obesity is a key national priority and Wakefield rates are higher than the national average.

“Evidence suggests that people who catch COVID-19 and are overweight or obese are more likely to suffer from worse health outcomes, so it is vital that we are offer accessible and appealing programmes to the district.”
