Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation

Ex-Our Welcome

Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation is the official charity of Super League side Wakefield Trinity. Over the last 15 years, we have pledged our time and dedication to use the power of Rugby League to inspire a community, creating lasting legacies for the people inside it.

What we are about...

As a charity of Wakefield Trinity, we want to use the club’s Rugby League superiority within the city to inspire both adults and children alike. From the Big Feed to NCS, we are dedicated to encouraging change, whilst also offering the chance to seek help.

Throughout the Foundation, we have four main departments, Trinity Education,NCS, Rugby League and Health, Wellbeing & Inclusion. Throughout all these sperate stands, we relish the opportunity to use sport to stimulate positive change in both an individual and community’s behaviour and attitudes.

Our history

Our history of Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation was one of the very first Rugby League Football Club charities, having originally been set up in 2006 during the ‘Ted Richardson era’ and was known as ‘Wakefield Wildcats Community Trust’. The vision was to use the power of the Wakefield Trinity badge to engage young people from the local community in activities at Belle Vue Stadium.

The Foundation was extremely prominent between the years of 2008 and 2012 through key projects such as The Learning Zone, Schools Rugby League Development, Wildcat Dolls Cheerleading and the Junior Wildcats Club before experiencing a steep drop in funded programmes and unrestricted income.

Our core values

To win the hearts and minds of our local community by allowing people to TRAIN with our teams.

To utilise the power of sport to motivate and INSPIRE young people, businesses and the community.

To be a pioneer of change at the forefront of sport to help DEVELOP the community.

To EDUCATE and build stronger connections with local primary and secondary schools.

Our vision & Mission

The purpose of our charity is to deliver a service that is rated as “best in class” by our participants, funders and community partners. A service that is recognised as highly successful in making a significant social contribution; changing lives and providing opportunities for all participants, particularly the most hard-to-reach and hard-to-help members of society.

Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation must be ambitious, dynamic and agile if it is to become the charity of first choice for donors, sponsors and grant-awarding bodies.

‘To be the most effective charity, both nationally and internationally, that uses sport as a tool to identify and support vulnerable people and help to change lives for the better.’
