Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation is delighted to welcome Charlie Doherty as Rugby League & Inclusion Officer.
Charlie, who has been working part-time with the Foundation since 2019, will be taking a lead on the inclusion side of the organisation, looking after our PDRL, LDSL, Wheelchair sides as well as our women’s & girl’s and touch programmes.
The disability side of the game has grown enormously over the last two years, with or PDRL side reaching back-to-back Grand Finals in 2019 and 2021. Following this, we also set up a Wheelchair side in early 2021 and will be looking to move forward in the near future.
Alongside his work with the disability sides, he will also continue to work with the Rugby League department in both schools and on camps.
Speaking upon Charlie’s arrival, Rugby League Development Manager, Josh Riding, said, “We are delighted to get Charlie on a full-time basis as Rugby League & Inclusion Officer.
“This will help continue to grow and develop our Rugby League and inclusion programmes.
“He has been a committed asset to the Foundation for a number of years and we are pleased he will be stepping up and leading on programmes moving forward.
